You're not the contents of your handbag -- but from Maria Sharapova carrying Sharpies (to give autographs) to Sharon Stone carrying tins of dark chocolate in their totes, we love when fashion meets functionality. But when it comes to designers, we don't love the price.

Well, if you are like me, you love when recycling and fashion collide, but things can get a bit tricky when it comes to luxury labels. How do you know whether or not that bag you just dropped several hundred dollars on is the real deal?

Enter: ebay's new verification program.

Instead of having to worry about whether or not your ebay bag is the real deal, you can simply buy from one of their verified sellers. And to get you started, why not go with a classic in the style of the Golden Age of Hollywood?

Here's some inspiration (along with a few links to get you started, these auctions were current as of this publishing) to get you started:

ChaneL'S CLASSIC FLAP

Growing tired of having her hands full with a drink and a handbag, Coco created the Chanel Classic Flap Bag. She took inspiration from WWI soldiers' packs and added an extended strap to create an iconic silhouette. It remains as one of the most recognizable bags in the world.

Gucci Bamboo

From Elizabeth Taylor to Beyonce, A-listers favor these bags in heaps. First coming on the scene in 1947, the use of bamboo was born of necessity more than style choice. At a time when resources were limited, bamboo cane could still be imported from Japan.

There are heaps and heaps of styles to choose from on eBay -- but this pink floral style will get you started.

LOUIS VUITTON SPEEDY

Even though the Speedy bag was released in the 1930’s, it was Audrey Hepburn who really made it the ultimate "it" bag in the 1960's. In fact, the Speedy 25 was custom made in its particular size especially for her.

HERMES KELLY BAG

In the 1930s, Robert Dumas designed a ladies' handbag with a simple design; Grace Kelly commissioned half a dozen of the bags in various shades. The bag served her well, shielding her from paparazzi when she was pregnant - that photo made the cover of Life magazine, and the bag found its moniker, the "Kelly."

This authentic "Kelly" bag is a fraction of the price!

GUCCI JACKIE O Bag

This hobo-shaped bag is one of Gucci's best-selling styles. In 1961 Gucci changed the name of this bag from "Constance" to "Jackie" -- this was the same year that Jackie Kennedy (who made the look iconic) moved into the White House.

SALVATORE FERRAGAMO SOFIA

It is said that this bag is named after Sophia Loren, who was a pal of the famous designer.
