The first film I really saw Bette Davis in was Of Human Bondage. My husband had fallen asleep already, so I opened my laptop and picked out the first Classic Film I saw listed on Amazon Prime. I thought I would just watch 20 minutes or so, but by then, I was hooked!
Bette was known as a bit of a tyrant amongst the studios, by her own admission. But reading her autobiography, I find more to like about her than to criticize. She is honest about both her strengths and her weaknesses, and that kind of authenticity is admirable.
Below are a few of her favorite things, along with a story or two about why she loved them.
About Greta Garbo, Bette said, "Her instinct, her mastery over the machine [camera], was pure witchcraft."

Several notes in the spirit of doing the right thing... Bette Davis didn't necessarily endorse any of the products listed here, but based upon my research I do believe she really loved these things. That said, if you buy from any of the links included above rather than going straight to the vendor site from Google or another search engine, I may get a portion of your purchase at no cost to you.
